real life

sometimes i get this awful feeling like everything that i do, really just everything, is happening really fast.  my thoughts are fast and loud, it seems like i move extra fast even if i intentionally go slow.  this happened to me earlier today and i went to get some water from the fridge and it sounded like the fridge was screaming at me.  this terrible feeling seems to happen when i really get into a video game.  i was playing donkey kong for wii when it happened today.  i get tired of the same donkey kong music over and over again, so i mute the game and put on my ipod.  i was listening to "time to dance" by panic at the disco! when this feeling happened this time.  it's a great song but probably one of the worst songs for the circumstance.

in other thoughts, i decided today that i'm going to not let my job make me mad anymore.  that's a big deal b/c it makes me mad.... most every day.  i was extra slammed this morning and i kinda went off on my boss.  not good.  i made up for it though.  i noticed i went too far and i pulled it back in very quickly.  i was just really mad.  the thing is, in all honesty, i have no idea who to be mad at.  my boss just does what he is told to do, just like i do what he tells me to do.  his boss probably just tells my boss what his boss tells him to tell my boss.  well regardless of who is responsible, it only affects me.  i will do my best, as always and that's that.

just took this of seamus while i was typing this out.  he's pretty great too : )

hog

the other day i was informed of some odd/disturbing news.  apparently in robertsdale (we live one town over) it's very common for people to eat hog/pig testicles.     i know!  i work with a bunch of guys that grew up there, and everyone of them has had rocky mountain oysters at least once.

i was talking to the guy across the conveyor belt from me, just like any other normal day and some how it came up that he ate this item.  he went on to say that it's very common and that you would be waisting food other wise.  gag... dry heave.  excuse me, i have a hyperactive gag reflex.

i asked all of the people that work around me about this, and if they grew up in robertsdale they had had 'em.  there are three of us at work that grew up on the eastern shore and none of us had had the experience.  the three of us made fun of the rest of the guys, because were from fairhope and that's what we do.  gag...

life and dream

i love life cereal.  i'm eating some as i type this very second.  it all started while i was in nursing school.  i was sooooo so so stressed out all the time!  but, while i was eating my bowl of life, it all was put on hold.  for the amount of time that you can draw out eating cereal before it gets too soggy, i was carefree.  i had so many bowls of life in that timeframe and now it just stuck.  i have no excuse, it's just good.

i have two followers now!!! so, thanks laura!  i'm going to go ahead and say i'm sorry for all the grammatical errors that i have typed and will type in the future in this blog.  i know i'm not very gifted in the grammar department but i still want to blog. . . because i have thoughts.

i had a crazy dream the other night.  it all took place in a strange meshing of my house and my mom's house.  i was the only person around, but seamus (my dog) and peaches (my grandmother-in-law's dog) were with me.  the weather was getting really bad outside and i saw twelve or so tornados start to touch down.  i grabbed the dogs and we jumped into the creek that runs by my mom's house because it is the lowest place around.  i'm holding both dogs up out of the water when a woman comes out of nowhere looking for me.  there was a dock that appeared along the bank of the creek and we hid under it.  the woman seemed to have given up on us when she grabbed me.  the dogs and i struggled to the shore and started to run.  we ran for a bit, and back inside, but then i realized that the woman was very small.  she was very short (like 3ft ish) and wide.  so i picked her up by her feet and hung her upside down.  i started hitting her head on counters and everything else.  i was really beating her up.  somewhere along the line she was less of a person and more of a turkey.  i held her/it upside down then i started to squeeze her/it length ways.  feet in one hand, head in the other.  then i was looking for a meat cleaver.  i think the last part was too much for me to think about and i woke up.  i consider this a nightmare.  i don't normally dream of myself performing violent deeds/murder attempts, but she was chasing me first.  it was a very strange and disturbing dream and it made me wake up about ten minuets before my alarm clock went off, which is one of the worst things ever.

i look at the floor and i see that it needs sweeping

in my last post i talked about our sailboat and how i wanted to make a project list of things to do to fix it up.  well, that did happen, but as it turns out it may be cheaper to take the boat to the junk yard than to fix it up. : ( not happy about that news but it's not official yet.  we have to check out the belly underside and see what it looks like before we can tell what the fate of my dreams will be.  i also looked into sailing to key west from south al.....  apparently along the way it's very dangerous/treacherous.  my dream is still in pieces on the floor and, i'm not in the mood to clean them up after being shut down.

in other news, it's been way too cold here.  people in the northern states may not think it so, but true southerners operate best above 60 degrees.  tonight's low is 21!!!  i'm really not looking forward to work in the morning with temperatures like that.  (i practically work outside.  it's probably warmer outside than my work space)  it's now my bed time.

sail boat

i was given a sail boat the other day...  it needs some work but i'm super stoked about all the possibilities it will bring to our life.  it's always been a dream to sail down to the keys and live care free on the boat for a month or more.  once we made it to florida we would find a tiny, uninhabited island to anchor close to and swim and snorkel.  we would go on the main land for dinner to a new/different place every night.  then when we were ready, we would make our way back to our boat to sleep the night off.  when we eventually wake up we could just fall over board, swim and do it all over again.

if you've never been to the keys i strongly recommend going.  the water is as clear as air, the marine life is crazy/beautiful and the sand is stark white.

i just made and ate one of the best muffins EVER.  we make zucchini muffins on a weekly basis for a health breakfast for the rest of the week.  there always good but today i put some leftover pecans into the mix and it's like a whole new breed of muffin.  so much better.  i'm afraid this is going to have to become a permanent change, only pecans aren't the cheapest things on the earth.

i'm off to talk about my boat.  i'm hoping to make a list of all the things i want to fix.

confessions

confession #1    i'm really loving this warmer weather!  i know it's suppose to be cold because it's winter time but i work out in the elements and i hate being cold.  it's been in the 60's this week and i don't think anyone would complain about that.  it's like the ideal temperature bracket

confession #2    i do wish it were colder outside for the meal i'm about to eat.  i made white chili but chili is cold weather food.  i know, i can't be pleased.  i should have known that it wasn't going to be cold this week and made plans to make something less wintery like hot dogs or enchiladas.

confession #3    i don't like the brand of cars referred to as "lexus".  i was trying to think of a name for my blog and that line in jay-z's song "empire state of mind" popped into my head.
"cruising down 8th street, off white lexus
driving so slow, but bk is from texas."
it's a really great song!  so that was the birth of this blog's namesake.

i deleted my facebook the other day and i'm stoked about it!  i have been meaning to do it for a while now but now it's done, the chain was cut and i'm free of that crap.

i'm about to watch an old episode of ugly betty while i drink some coffee.  i enjoy both ugly betty and coffee.  thanks to hulu i can catch up on all the old seasons of ugly betty that i missed before i got into watching it.  but now my coffee is just getting cold.
